Pass-A-Buck Launch! Mate helping mate just got easier



Now you can ask your friends to help you with pressing tasks and share some love back.

Pass-A-Buck is a web and mobile app that buzzes all your mates in your phone/email contact list about stuff you need done. And if they help you out, the app organises a gratitude payment...conveniently taking out the squirm factor of money coming between friends.

Pass-a-buck is easy to use. If you are organising a party, just list some of the key tasks involved, identifying jobs where you have a few dollars to spend. Via the app, you can offer the your mates the change to gain a little bit of cash by helping you get everything done.

“I recently organised my 21st and because I work and study, I was desperate for all my mates to pitch in. They are all busy too, but by using Pass-a-buck, I was able to pay them a little bit of cash, and everything got done really quickly.” said Canberra student Matt Maher.

Although task sharing apps have become popular in recent years, Pass-a-buck has some unique advantages. It focuses on your immediate friends using only the the contacts in your mobile phone, and allows you to tackle larger tasks in one sweep, through some clever sub-tasking logic.

“It was really fun when Matt asked me to sort out some kegs for him” said Mr Maher’s best friend Mitchell Harmer. “The app conveniently inserted an event in my Google Apps calender so I wouldn’t forget, and I have a concert I am attending next week, so the extra dollars I earned were a real bonus.” added Mr Harmer.

The development team behind Pass-a-buck are particularly proud of the ‘pass it on’ feature allowing people who can’t help with a particular task to pass it on to someone who might be able to. So effectively, Pass-a-buck users are never short of people willing to help.

Community groups too love Pass-a-buck, as it’s free to use for working bees, or general event coordination where there is no money involved.
